4 Paras & a Pic
Need a bit of uplifting? Perhaps some useful information about stress management, food, health, or how to focus? Perhaps you’d like a brief diversion by way of travel memories? Or simply something colorful to cheer, soothe or distract you?
My blog will do the trick. It’s ostensibly about art, and sometimes I do write about my pastel painting process. More often, though, I summarize interesting articles or research I’ve read, saving you the trouble, and connect it to something I’ve painted, or somewhere I’ve traveled and then painted.
The post is always short and sweet, literally just four paragraphs and an image. Sometimes that’s a travel photo, sometimes a shot of work in progress or an exhibit opening, but usually it’s one of my paintings. You can look at it and see yourself sipping wine in a French or Italian cafe, attending a carnival parade in Uruguay or a market in Buenos Aires, being awed by D-Day beaches in Normandy or by the Alhambra in Spain… Or perhaps, as in this painting, imagine yourself climbing stone stairs to ancient ruins on a Greek island.
In this case, the painting is of Lindos on the island of Rhodes. The path was virtually nonexistent – no OSHA here! – but the climb was worth it. Columns from a temple framed a turquoise ocean dotted with sailboats, as the classic whitewashed Greek village clung to the cliffs. I hope you enjoy the feeling I tried to convey in this painting – just magical!
Aw…thank YOU!
Always makes me happy. Thank you.
